Hamelin Bay ~ Western Australia

Located in on the south west coast of WA between Cape Leewin & Cape Naturaliste. It was named after the French explorer who sailed through the area in about 1801 ~ Jacques Felix Emmanuel Hamelin

It was a small settlement & port which was established to service timber milling operations. The Hamelin Bay Jetty was built in 1882 and only a few piles of the original jetty remain.

Another amazing thing about this place was the Sting Rays!! HUGE the kids thought it was fantastic to see these beautiful sea creatures coming right up in the sand….. they were everywhere!!

Rob & Lachy had a fantastic time fishing here, caught heaps of Skippy { Trevally } even Livvy reeled in at least three she can remember!! They had to be careful to not throw out too big bait otherwise the Rays thought it was dinner time.

My time to be able to take photo’s was limited as Scarlett & Bonnie decided to curl up in my lap ❤ Livvy made the most of the time we spent here….. poor seagulls
